We're seeking an empathetic and driven leader to lead GradGuard’s customer experience and operations from our headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. The position will report to the Chief Operating Officer and be essential our to fulfill our mission of protecting the investment of students and families in a higher education. The successful candidate will help lead, build and scale GradGuard’s world-class service and in-bound sales team. In this role, you’ll hire and coach an elite team of customer experience specialists to deliver a high level of customer satisfaction. That is where you come in.

  • A Trusted Professional: We expect you will become a licensed insurance professional (P&C), and become a product expert in the fields of renter and tuition insurance. As a licensed professional you recognize the importance of using precise language in all customer communications. You demonstrate respect for everyone involved – the GradGuard member, GradGuard school and insurance partners.
  • Innovative: You are willing to try new things and embrace technology solutions that scale.
  • Educated: You hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or have the equivalent in customer service experience. Any type of customer service experience is desired. Experience within the insurance industry a plus.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead our Agency Operations: Your enthusiasm will help shape the voice of GradGuard to the tens of thousands of college students and families that we serve annually. You will shape the methods that serve our customers and be responsible for staffing our national insurance center.
  • Drive Customer Success: Drive customer satisfaction by improving processes, tools, and dashboards that demonstrate our success in anticipating and fulfilling our customer’s needs. You will also possess the maturity and professionalism to manage escalations and complaints.
  • Build Insights into the Customer Experience: Track customer acquisition, retention and claims payment performance for the agency. Use your analytical insights to anticipate customer needs and forecast demand for services.
  • Promote Innovation: Serve as the business leader on building capacity to service new products and services.
  • Manage Compliance: GradGuard has a culture to always “do the right thing” and you will ensure that the business maintains the documentation, training and processes requirements to maintain its national insurance producers license and PCI certification.
  • Talent & Culture Leader: Be a key leader to shape the culture, and morale of the entire GradGuard team. Be the leader who demonstrates daily concern for others as a commitment to GradGuard’s core values and mission.

Desired qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree or equivalent experience is required;
  • 4+ years of work experience in a business-operations, leadership of customer service teams or similar role.
  • 3-5 years of working with teams in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
  • Lead ZenDesk and other customer service platforms will help build and improve our data and analytics foundation including executive reporting, dashboards, and KPIs.
  • Effective, clear, and concise communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Results-driven self-starter with the ability to multitask. Strong initiative and ability to work in a self-directed environment with a “can do” attitude and growth mindset
  • Detail-oriented with a knack for organization and process improvement. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while dealing with ambiguity
  • A penchant for customer service, patience, and resourcefulness A cross-functional mindset with a solid understanding of strategic and operational planning and business processes.
  • Creative problem solving and ability to work iteratively, taking advantage of low-hanging fruit while pursuing longer-term strategies and execution in parallel.
  • Results oriented: A track record of consistently delivering excellent results, even in the face of changing environment.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

GradGuard is seeking a Campus Development Representative who shares a deep interest in the value of education, is entrepreneurial minded, technology savvy and is ready for the fast-paced environment that comes with both. This person will require a passion for working with people and they must not fear rejection, rather be willing to learn from it. Our team will be committed to mentoring and providing you with the tools to exceed in your career. This is an opportunity to be a part of a strong, proven, growing brand quickly expanding in the higher education market.

  • Contact and qualify schools to understand their needs.
  • Schedule in-person or conference call meetings between yourself, VP of Campus Development and the qualified school.
  • Learn the GradGuard school facing implementation process and be able to speak to our technology intelligently.
  • Learn the unique features of GradGuard’s Renters Insurance product and be able to share these features with schools.
  • Listen to the needs of schools and shape case studies that demonstrate the value of GradGuard to schools and students.
  • Become a student of the higher education industry.
  • Support the team in creating valuable B2B content that engages our school partners.
  • Effectively use SalesForce customer relationship management system to track discussions and campus engagements that will enable you to easily produce sales, activity and pipeline report for review with the VP of Campus Development.
  • Learn to travel efficiently and effectively.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The position is based in Boston or Phoenix and reports to the Vice President for Campus Development, Steven Fucci.

  • Four-year college degree from an accredited institution
  • Excellent project management skills with a demonstrated capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Student Housing experience with demonstrated understanding of the responsibilities of the Residence Life and Housing Office.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrated curiosity in technology, higher education, social media, and insurance / risk management.
  • Enthusiasm for higher education.
  • Willingness to become licensed insurance property and causality producer.
  • This position will require travel to industry conference and between the company’s offices in Phoenix and Boston.
  • Exceptional communication skills allowing you to connect with customers by email, phone and in-person.
  • Self-managed, highly motivated, and confident.
  • Very organized and diligent in managing your day.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be flexible and available for approximately up to 30% travel, and to attend meetings, presentations, and events outside the office
  • Flexible to work weekends and/or extended work days, as required the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires: Constant sitting or standing, some walking around, and Occasionally lifting no more than 20 lbs.

GradGuard is looking to expand their customer advocacy team with a renters insurance product and community team lead. The community leader becomes a vital voice in demonstrating the risks of #collegelife and will help curate, create and distribute stories that demonstrate the value of GradGuard to college students, families and the schools that serve them. We are in the market for a fantastic individual that is a self-starter, team player, and customer advocate in every way.

As a community and team lead, you will take charge of our social standpoint on media platforms such as Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Writers block is something you have never heard of before
  • A Trusted Professional: As the renters insurance team lead, you are at the front lines of the action. Your conduct as a licensed insurance professional requires you to be precise in your language and conduct. You demonstrate respect for everyone involved – the GradGuard member, GradGuard school partners and the insurance companies who help fulfill our promise to pay for losses.
  • Educated: You hold a bachelors degree from an accredited institution or have the equivalent in customer service experience. Any kind of customer service experience is desired.

What you will be doing:

  • Create raving fans for GradGuard through the delivery of outstanding service to our customers.
  • Fulfill the customer service and sales function as a nationally licensed agent.
  • Be the voice of our customers and an advocate for their unique needs.
  • Maintain a library of knowledge to address customer service calls, e-mail inquiries and online chat sessions.
  • Be an internal product expert that is capable of providing professional advice regarding the insurance needs of our customers, college students and their families.
  • Maintain and add to ongoing FAQs which improve our ability to generate auto-generated responses.
  • Give direct feedback to management for marketing, customer trends and suggestions. You are the front lines of our customer experience and we will value your insights on how to deliver the best possible experience.
  • Speak to our customers – by contributing to the editorial calendar of tips, insights and GradGuard membership messages that add value to #collegelife.
  • Use your creative mindset and create weekly content for our GradGuard social media following while constantly brainstorming what more we can do for our renters insurance community.
  • Assist with special projects to ensure deadlines are met, supporting GradGuard products.
