What Address Should I Use When Purchasing Tuition Insurance If I'm Studying Abroad?

Updated 2 weeks ago | Frequently Asked Questions

If you are studying abroad, use your primary US residential address when purchasing your tuition insurance plan.

Why your US address matters

Your state of residence — as defined during the purchase process — determines your eligibility and any plan variations that apply to your plan. Using a foreign address or your school's address could result in incorrect plan terms or processing issues.

Your primary US residential address is typically your permanent home address — the address you use for tax purposes, your driver's license, or your student records.

What if I don't have a current US address?

Plans are only available to U.S. residents and may not be available in all jurisdictions.

Am I eligible for tuition insurance while studying abroad?

You are eligible if your tuition and fees are paid directly to your home institution, not to the foreign university or a third-party study abroad provider.

Terms, conditions, and exclusions (including for pre-existing conditions) apply. Plans only available to U.S. residents and may not be available in all jurisdictions. Insurance benefits are underwritten by Jefferson Insurance Company. GradGuard, a service of Next Generation Insurance Group, LLC (NGI), is the licensed agent for all insurance programs. Plans include insurance benefits and assistance services. Non-insurance benefits/services, and claims administration, are provided by AGA Service Company.
