How Does A Claim Work On A Multi-Term Tuition Insurance Plan?

Updated 1 week ago | Frequently Asked Questions

A multi-term plan can provide protection for multiple school terms that begin and end while the plan is in effect. The maximum benefit limit is per plan period — not per covered term.

How the benefit limit works across terms

If you need to withdraw from school during a covered term for a covered reason and your claim is approved, the reimbursement amount is deducted from your total benefit limit for the remainder of the policy period.

Example: If you purchase a multi-term plan with $50,000 in coverage and withdraw during the fall term with $30,000 in approved expenses, you have $20,000 remaining for the rest of the plan period. If you then need to withdraw during a subsequent term — such as spring or summer — you would only be eligible for reimbursement of up to the remaining $20,000.

What stays the same for each claim

Each claim within a multi-term plan follows the same process regardless of which term it covers:

  • You must call Allianz Partners at 877-794-6603 to open the claim
  • The withdrawal must be for a covered reason
  • The student must completely withdraw from that term
  • Your school must complete an Institution Validation Form for that term
