Yes. You can purchase tuition insurance to cover non-refundable higher education expenses for courses that don't follow a traditional fall/spring semester schedule — including summer programs, intensive sessions, and other short-term credit-bearing courses.

The plan must be purchased before the start date of the course or program you want to cover.

Which plan type is best for non-traditional programs?

For students enrolled in multiple sessions across a calendar year — such as a summer intensive followed by a fall semester — a multi-term plan is generally the better fit.

A multi-term plan provides coverage for any school terms that begin within 365 days of your purchase date, rather than covering a single defined semester. This means one purchase can cover a summer session, fall term, and spring semester without needing to re-purchase for each one.

A single-term plan covers one specific term. If you're only protecting one short session and don't plan to continue, a single-term plan may be sufficient.

What qualifies as a covered program?

To be eligible, the course or program must:

• Be offered by an accredited post-secondary institution 
• Carry academic credit and be included in your official enrollment at that school
• Have tuition and fees that you are responsible for paying
