You may cancel your tuition insurance plan online through your GradGuard account and receive a refund of any unearned premium — as long the cancellation is requested before the first day of classes and a claim has not been initiated.

How to cancel your plan online

Step 1: Log into your account.

Step 2: Find your tuition plan on the Dashboard page then click on "View Policy".

Step 3: Click on the "Select an Action" drop-down menu at the top of your policy details page.

Step 4: Select "Suspend Policy". 

*If your tuition plan is active, you will need to follow the steps to contact our agency. 

Step 5: If the policy you wish to cancel is not active, choose a cancelation reason from the drop-down menu.

a. You will be prompted to select "Contact Us" if your policy details are incorrect. 

Step 6: Click on "Cancel My Policy" to submit your cancelation request.

An email confirmation of the cancelation details will be sent. Remember, you cannot cancel your tuition plan if a claim has been initiated.

What if I can't cancel online?

If your tuition plan is currently active, you will need to contact our agency directly to process the cancellation. Call us at 877-794-6603 and a member of our team will assist you. 

Important things to know before canceling 

• No claim can have been initiated. If a claim has been started under the plan, the policy cannot be canceled for a refund.
• Refunds are limited to any unearned premium as determined by the plan terms. Review your plan documents or call us at 877-794-6603 for details on how your refund amount is calculated.
• If you want to change your plan instead of canceling, such as increasing your coverage amount or updating your start date, call us at 877-794-6603 before making any changes — canceling and re-enrolling may be required.
